Responsible Energy Development Symposium

Responsible Energy Development Symposium

Thank you to all of you who were able to attend the Responsible Energy Development Symposium in Jackson Hole this May.  This important meeting brought together leading practitioners and researchers in wildlife science, resource planning, and wildlife conservation to pool their ideas and develop a road map for balancing wildlife conservation and energy development in the Rocky Mountain West.

We were very lucky to have Governor Dave Freudenthal (WY) deliver a lively and informative key note speech which drove home the fact that hunters and anglers must get involved now if we want to change the policies that govern wildlife and oil and gas development.

All told, nearly 200 attendees witnessed presentations and participated in workshops designed to gather feedback which will inform our land and wildlife management recommendations that will be released in July of 2008.   If you are a hunter or an angler, a business owner, or a leader in your community please take the time to sign the sportsmen’s bill of rights today and find out how you can help conserve the West’s wildlife for future generations to enjoy.  Sign up here.
